(1) Safety valves on equipment or pipelines should generally be installed upright. However, when the valve is closed, it can be installed horizontally in places where the pressure may rise due to thermal expansion.

(2) The installation position of the safety valve should be as close as possible to the protected equipment or pipeline. If not close to the layout, the pressure drop of the pipeline from the protected equipment nozzle to the safety valve inlet should not exceed 3% of the valve’s fixed pressure value. ;

(3) The safety valve should not be installed at the end of a long horizontal pipeline to prevent the accumulation of solid or liquid materials at the end, so as not to affect the normal operation of the safety valve;

(4) The safety valve should be installed in a place easy to repair and adjust, and there should be enough working space around it.

(5) Because of the heavy weight of the large diameter safety valve, the possibility of lifting after disassembly of the large diameter safety valve should be considered in the layout, and the suspender should be installed when necessary.

(6) The long radius elbow shall be used in the inlet pipeline of the relief valve.

(7) The design of safety valve outlet pipeline should consider that back pressure does not exceed a certain value of safety valve. For example, for the ordinary spring relief valve, its back pressure does not exceed 10% of the set value of the relief valve.

(8) The outlet pipeline of the safety valve discharged into the closed system should be obliquely connected to the top of the relief main pipe along the medium flow direction of 45 degrees, so as to prevent the condensate from flowing back into the branch pipe and reduce the back pressure of the safety valve.

(9) The outlet pipe of safety valve can not appear “bag-shaped”. When the outlet pipe of safety valve is long, a certain gradient (except dry gas system) should be set up.

(10) When the discharge pipe of the safety valve is discharged into the atmosphere, it should be noted that the discharge outlet should not be directed towards the equipment, platform, ladder, cable, etc.

(11) There should be no “bag” accumulation in the discharge pipe of the wet gas pressure relief system, and the installation height of the safety valve should be higher than that of the pressure relief system. If the outlet of the relief valve is lower than the relief main pipe or the discharge pipe needs to be elevated to access the main pipe, the sub-liquid bag should be set at the low point which is easy to approach.

(12) When a cut-off valve is installed on the inlet pipeline of the safety valve, a single wedge gate valve should be selected and sealed with lead. The valve stem should be installed horizontally and not upward so as to avoid sliding of the slide plate when the pins connecting the stem and the valve plate are corroded or loosened. When safety valve is equipped with by-pass valve, the valve should be sealed with lead.
